#95 of 287 mountain bike trails in Florida

A nice trail that is close to the center of Gainesville. Trail features a little climbing and descending, some tight turns and a couple of log crossings. Typical Florida terrain here…sandy in some sections but not to the point that it’s a pain. This is in an area locals call homeless hills due to some homeless camps in the area. A place worth checking out in Gainesville.

From I-75 exit 382 head north on 121 (Williston Rd) towards Gainesville. Continue north for about 4 miles and turn right onto SE 16th ave. The trail head is at the end of the street.

As of April 18 this trail is still Open. San Felasco and Santos are still closed. Some nice hilly areas but its fairly short. On the back side closer to the Hawthorne trail one section has tons of roots the other has lots of sugar sand.
| ThankThis trail runs around 2-3 miles if you hit all of the loops and ride it to where it drops onto the Hawthorne Trail. Though short, it is fairly hilly with rooty climbs and descents. Worth checking out.
| Thank2nd time riding this trail. Enjoyed much more this time. Nice hill climb with enough roots to be a challenge. Easy to navigate.
| ThankVery dry and sandy on the backside, up front was good, one muddy section that is easy to avoid
| ThankJust got a new mountain bike and tested it out on this trail for the first time. It was fun, and a little bit more advanced than I expected, but it was my first time on a mountain bike in quite some time.
It looked like they were installing a new bridge, so part of the trail was blocked off. You might want to wait a month or so for the full experience. Definitely worth a visit if you live nearby.
| ThankI like this trail a lot actually, it is short but it's plenty to enjoy. It makes a great trail to train on for longer rides because it has a wide variety from double to single track respectable climbs and nice descents with some technical and narrow spots. If your looking to build up your stamina or speed on most trails this is a good one to use!
| ThankPretty fun, just short. The beginning is as beginner as it gets, but it picks up fast with some good climbs and descents, the trail tightens up (trees make it just over handlebar width), and some tough roots. Fun none the less!
| ThankAs much fun as you make of it good for beginners enough roots to keep it interesting.
| ThankSo - is this trailhead just past the In The Pines (still the name??) apartment complex???
| ThankI had some fun out here. Some roots, some little rocks, a little climbing and descending. It’s a little short so you might have to take a couple of laps to be satisfied.
