Canal is a very smooth, rolling singletrack trail that floats and weaves through one
of the classic Crested Butte Meadows. After the balls-out descent down Strand Hill,
this is a nice, relaxing finish.
Beautiful trail!

To get to the Strand Hill parking area: "Take highway 135 for 2 miles south out
of town and turn onto Brush Creek Road on the left. Park in one of the parking
spots (psuedo-trailheads) and ride your bike down the dirt road until you get to
a jeep road on the right. You have to follow that up several climbs and go pretty
far until you actually get to Strand Hill Trail. It's pretty hard to find if you're not
a local."
The Canal Trail begins a little further up the road than the Strand Hill/Farris
Creek Road

Terrific downhill trail thru wildflower meadows with awesome views of the mountains. Not technical but fast and fun. Small stream crossing right at the end by Brush creek road.
