On Hwy 190 across from Fountainebleau State Park, on Bayou Castine, just a few minutes east of Mandeville. Park at Pelican Park's Green field. Continue to trailhead from back of parking area.
It's a 4 because there is not much else around this area. There are some decent twists and small elevation changes on this trail. It seems to be well maintained. It is much better than just a wide flat trail. Scenery is good. Singletrack for part of the trail.
| ThankIt has some minor features that may pose a slight challenges to a beginner which makes it abit more interesting than any other trails that I have seen in close proximity to this.
Great for beginners. Not too many hikers in the late afternoon. My 9 and 13 year old loved it for newbies.
