…new to the forum at least. A few quick points:

      – Been mountain biking on and off for years.
      – Got back into it last Christmas after finally getting a decent bike (Specialized Hardrock Sport 29), not the Wal-Mart Mongoose I’d been riding before.
      – Hoping to have the money to upgrade to a Specialized Carbon Enduro 29er next year
      – I think my technical skill level would be in the upper end of intermediate.
      – Always looking for new trails to challenge me in the North Carolina Triangle, and riding buddies to accompany me there. What’s the general consensus in this forum on bandit trails?
      – Occasionally volunteer for the local bike co-op building, breaking down, and repairing bikes as well as learning – although they seem more road bike centered

I’ll just leave it at that for now. Looking forward to the experience here.

Hey man, welcome back to mountain biking, and welcome to Singletracks! If you have any questions, let us know.

What’s the general consensus in this forum on bandit trails?

I guess I can’t speak for everyone, but I’d say let’s not talk about bandit trails….. it’s like the first rule of fight club ;)

In addition to the great trails of western North Carolina add trails in western Virginia to your to ride list. Douthat State Park, Carvins Cove, and many more await the adventerous explorer.
