      Hello!

I have recently decided to get back in to mountain biking – I did a little in college but have only been riding a comfort cruiser for the past few years. My old mountain bike was a Specialized Hard Rock and I still think of it fondly. I live in Colorado and can’t wait to hit some of the beautiful trails this state has to offer. I will be picking up my new Specialized Myka Elite 29er this week. I’m so enjoying reading the threads and trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. I don’t have any specific questions as of yet, but if any of you want to throw some important beginner tips out, that’d be great! I am not the most daring person, so I’ll be taking it pretty easy, but I’m hoping as I gain confidence I’ll want to tackle some challenging terrain.

Welcome to the website, and you’re definitely in the right location for a huge variety of trail riding!

When I started riding here I hooked up with a local club, ICCC. (International Christian Cycling Club) I hate riding alone, for a variety of reasons, and they do an excellent job of splitting the group up by skill level. The end result is you hook up with riders you can keep up with, there’s people around if something goes wrong, and there’s lots of encouragement as you work on your skills.

Here’s a link to their schedule for the remainder of the summer:

There are some other local clubs, but these guys seem to be the most laid back and aren’t as race-oriented as some of the others.

      Good luck and have fun!!
