How often should I retension and align my wheels? They roll straight, it’s just that the rim is not center with the hub…

When you say they are rolling straight I take that to mean there is no side to side wobble of the rim or hops where the rim is slightly out of round. If this is the case it sounds like there is nothing wrong with your tension but your wheels may need the dish adjusted so that the rims are centered properly on the hubs. I would take it to your local shop and have someone look at it. Re-setting the dish would entail bringing the tension down on all spokes and retightening with a new dish alignment.

      That’s what I figured. Thanks…

If the wheel is still straight and round, correcting the dish is easy. Depending on the tension it would require tightening the spokes on one side to pull the rim over, OR tightening on one side and loosening on the other. I’ve re-dished a high end Mavic wheel before. It was built well, good even tension, true, round, just not centered. I tightened one side by half a turn and loosend the other by 1/4 turn. Quick and easy. But does need to be done by someone who knows what they’re doing.

The rim is not supposed to be centered between the hub flanges, it should be centered between the axle ends.
