Bike company case study: Raleigh

The Guardian has an in-depth article about the transformation going on at Raleigh these days and it’s pretty interesting from a business perspective. Personally, I didn’t realize:

  1. Raleigh is a British company
  2. Raleigh also makes Diamondback and Triumph bikes
  3. Raleigh has been making bikes for more than 100 years

The article paints a picture not unlike that of many other bike companies: struggling for market share, barely profitable, and outsourced production. Take a look - good opportunity to play armchair-CEO…
