The RFX is back in black! When Turner Bikes released its first RFX in 1999 it was a purpose-built freeride bike and has since seen three revisions. For its fourth showing, the RFX 4.0 gets carbonized, customized, and maximized for enduro domination.


Some accuse Dave Turner for being a slow adapter to technology. It was only a couple years ago that Turner released its first carbon fiber frame with the Czar, a cross-country race machine that has since proved to be much more capable than its numbers suggest. With the new RFX, it wasn’t about rushing another lightweight, 27.5, long-travel bike to market just for the sake of competing; rather it was about taking the time to create the best in the most rapidly-growing and largest segment within the bike market.


The RFX 4.0 gets the same C6 Toray High Modulus carbon fiber lay up found in the Czar, sports Dave Weagle’s famously efficient and highly-touted DW-link suspension platform, has a sweet 160mm of rear travel, 27.5 inch wheels with your choice of I9, DT-Swiss, or Enve (direct from Turner), and comes dropper-ready with internal routing. Turner utilizes a 49/62mm headset taper for added strength and longevity, and is capable of accommodating different head angle options +/- 1.5°, giving you the ability to really slack it out from its standard 66º to 64.5º, if desired. The RFX will still run external cables, but they’re secured using alloy cable clamps. So long zip ties!

Turner currently offers the RFX in five build kits: GX, XT, X01, XX1, and XTR, all equipped with a RockShox Pike and Monarch Plus Debonair. As of now, the RFX frame comes only in matte black.
