Commencal is pretty new to the US, having been shipping bikes here for around six months. I had the chance to ride their Meta V4 around Fort Ord’s trails, which you can read about here.

Besides that excellent trail bike, Commencal was showing a wide array of kids bikes–everything from balance bikes to DH-worthy rides for the kiddos. The Ramones is aimed at the youngest of riders, but is offered in 12, 14, 16, 20, and 24-inch wheels. Dang!

The Meta HT (hard tail) is the next step up and comes with either 20 or 24-inch wheels. Above that is the Supreme (20 or 24-inch), which is a full suspension that can be run singlespeed or geared.

In addition to the kids bikes, Commencal also launched their new DH bike, the Supreme DH V4. It uses a revised suspension layout from the previous version with a linkage driven high pivot setup. There is a very trick integrated idler wheel on the chainstay. This is a full-on race bike capable of tackling the toughest tracks.

This is their top-level build kit with (relatively new to the US) BOS suspension front and rear, SRAM XO1 DH drivetrain, and Code brakes with Centerline rotors. No word on retail price yet.
