If not riding then I'm writing, or quite possibly cooking something. I play bass with nine-and-a-half fingers, eat vegetables and fruit, and prefer movement as frequently as possible. I find discomforts and challenges more useful than most things, particularly what emerges from them. If I died and could return as anything I would choose a camp fire.
I just confirmed my response “Not as often as I would like” this past weekend. We camped at Lake Hope State Park in SE Ohio. Our team traveled there for a NICA race at Bailey’s Trail System this past weekend and it was beautiful. Camping just makes the whole experience better. I will definitely be back camping there to explore more of the trails because Bailey’s is a FUN system. They keep adding more trails, camping options and related amenities. I just need more free time (work, that four letter word we all know to well).
Just finished building out my 2015 RAM Promaster City for camping with my bike, stoked to explore! I’m always taking suggestions for biking and camping around the Johnson City area!
Camping is usually my preferred method, since it’s next to free and if I’m on a bike trip I’m there for the great outdoors, why not camp and make it as outdoorsy as possible? It also allows a lot more freedom if you decide to change the plan up a little.
That said it can suck if the weather isn’t favourable…
I also usually prefer the cheap/free camp spots that are a little more out there. I can usually combine my interest in off road driving with mountain biking in one trip.
