Warner Canyon is a community-run ski hill near Lakeview in southern Oregon that's pivoting to year-round mountain biking. The trail system currently features about 3.5 miles across three trails, including a short beginner loop and skills area. Phase one trails are beginner- and intermediate-friendly, with around 500 feet of elevation drop.
When all three phases are complete, Warner Canyon will be home to around 12 miles of mountain biking trails, ranging from beginner loops near the base to black and double black diamond runs dropping over 1,000 feet from the top of the chairlift. The entire 12 miles will be adaptive-friendly by design from day one. Phase two will add another 3 miles of solidly intermediate trails with the first introduction of an advanced line, dropping around 800 feet in elevation.
If interest warrants it, the chairlift could eventually haul bikes to the top year-round whenever there isn't snow on the ground, potentially making Warner Canyon one of the only year-round chairlift-served bike parks on the West Coast. In the meantime, an access road is available for shuttle service to the top, or riders can simply pedal up.
