Trail Description
About this trail
This is a great trail to ride after a long day at Tsali, or even a great trail for a quick ride after work. The elevation starts at 3165 ft and gradually winds up the mountain to Stecoah Bald. The entire four miles to the top/end is uphill but it is all worth it when you begin to return down the hill. Great views, awesome downhill, and tight singletrack near the top. Be sure to go all the way to the top, as the downhill from the bald has several whoop-to-doos.

Review: Haven't ridden here for years but the last time I rode Stecoah it was certainly overgrown toward the top. I might try this one in winter--otherwise, it's probably a high-grass slog.

Review: Apparently has not been ridden or maintained in some time. Went yesterday to find it impassable. Completely overgrown with large loose rocks on what used to a trail. Don't waist your time.

Review: If any gated gravel road is worth riding, this is it! This old logging road that climbs up around the mountain above Stecoah Gap offers amazing views of the Stecoah valley and surrounding mountains thanks to numerous logging cuts on the downhill side of the road. Some of the most scenic mountain biking I've done lately!

Review: Rode this on a rainy day in 2009. Got all the way to the top and couldn't see 10 ft. That's why they are the smokey mtn. The downhill was fun. Watch out for loggers working. If it is wet run fenders. Wasn't a epic ride but a good training ride. Nice and quiet. Happy Trails!!!
