After a steep climb up a sealed road surface the Benchin trail head begins. Rarely is there a gradient above 5% and the transverse gradients a pretty mild so the technical obstacles feel safer to attempt for beginners.
Thank |This was the longest intermediate single track my kids 10 and 11 had attempted and they loved the rugged beauty of the mountain side.
A one way series of rapid switch backs to gain elevation to a series of downhill trail heads.
Thank |While the track weaving up the hill rarely encounters a gradient above 5% the transverse gradient can be nigh vertical in places which challenged the nerves of my family of beginners.
There's several rocky outcrops and a few pinches between trees where hike-a-bike was our preferred way to negotiate. My kids, 10 and 11 have no desire to do it again soon.
Probably one best for me to do alone, but riding for me is about family fun.
