Trail Description
About this trail
The "Dikes" trails on the east side of Lebanon, Oregon roll along the western bank of the South Santiam River. The trails have existed for many generations, and offer approximately 2.5 miles of easy - moderate singletrack riding. There are two parallel trails: 1 "Upper" trail running along the tallest dike, and one "Lower" trail running about halfway between the upper trail and the river, with many connector trails between them and the river. Although this trail system may not seem worth an hour+ drive, they have proven to be a fairly popular trail system for hikers and bikers in and around Lebanon for many years.

Review: Good family trail, the trail closer to the river is wider & a bit more fun. You come to a Y - paved right; kinda a trail left. Nice river spot for a familyturn-around point. Maybe 2 miles RT. Lots of homeless and ikky people at park on north side. Nicer park on south side; which is where trail starts (by huge huge log. Ran into 2 homeless women on trail. I didn't feel safe enough to check out the off-trails to the river; and there's a deep runoff channel to contend with. The trail petered out till u come to heavily-posted (beware of dog; no trespassing) private land. A good and easy jaunt; but not really worth jumping off the interstate
