Model/Year: 2012

Pros: Weight
Build quality

Cons: None

Recommendation: My main riding buddy has this bike. He's got it built up very sweet with SRAM's top components and got it down to about 20 lbs and change. I've ridden it a few times and it's a great bike. I like the feel of this one as it doesn't feel like some 29ers in that you're on wagon wheels. This one is pretty nimble. It's fast too. That sub-21 lb on his bike doesn't hurt.

Model/Year: 2013

Pros: Love this bike, super light. mine weighs in at 19 lbs.been riding it for a couple months now and its smooth. this bike flies. highly recommend.

Cons: none

Recommendation: these frame r on sale right now so they are pretty EZ to find for half off. do yourself a favor and get one.

Model/Year: 2011 Air 9 Carbon

Pros: -Stupid light. My full build is 19.5 lbs
-Handles like a much smaller bike
-Fastest bike I've ever ridden
-Niner has excellent customer service and a great exchange/upgrade program for totalled frames.

Cons: -The eccentric bb can be a pain for some to setup initially. I had the LBS handle it.

Recommendation: Anybody looking for a really fast race bike will love this thing. Built up with the right components, you can have easily (but not cheaply) have a full build under 20 lbs.

Pros: Light. Flickable. Corret Rake = Good Steering. Paint.

Cons: Can't really say…?

Pros: Good component mix. Fairly lightweight frame.

Cons: Geometry feels a little compressed to me, leaving me sitting more upright on the bike. The bike I rode may not have been the right size but the chainstays were noticeably shorter than on my d660 (which is good or bad, depending on what you're looking for).

Recommendation: Solid bike, though I imagined a much more exciting experience after all the hype I had heard and read about Niners.

Model/Year: 2011 frame

Pros: Fast frame with a really compliant ride. Perfect flex and geometry.

Cons: Low color combinations and choices available.

Recommendation: So light it's unfair and crazy easy on your bones, there's nothing I'd rather race for the money.

Pros: Smooth lines. Great paint schemes and when paired with the Niner fork light.

Recommendation: I've ridden a friends and instantly become jealous. I've seen them on other forums built as light as 13pounds and still raceable. I would really love one for christmas.

Pros: Super light frame. Scandium is quite cushy for its weight. Rear triangle is especially vertically compliant. No observed torsional movement anywhere on the frame. Did I mention that it is light? I've got the Air9 frame in raw aluminum and, boy, it is sexy.

Cons: Pretty expensive frame given that it's a hard tail. Retails for around $800, I think.

Recommendation: This bike is light as hell and rides like a cloud. If you're shooting for a geared hard tail for XC racing, the Air 9 should be on your short list.

Pros: It's like conventional MB with big wheels. Handles great, climbs awesome. It has Kenda small block 8s and it is a fast bike.

Cons: Nothing as of yet

Recommendation: Love it! Got it at Johnny Sprockets in Chicago.
