Wentworth Ski Hill is the largest alpine ski facility in Nova Scotia and has been a downhill destination since the 1930s, but in just five years it's also become one of the top bike parks in Eastern Canada. The park makes the most of the hill's 230 meters (755 feet) of elevation, with 14 trails divided into two zones: a climb/enduro zone with six trails, and a hill zone with eight. From 2020 to 2025, over 40 km (25 mi) of trails were built here, creating a riding experience unlike anything else in the province.
The crown jewel is the park's new race-worthy double black diamond DH trail—the only trail of its kind east of Quebec. It's a full top-to-bottom descent with no intersections, a classic mountainside DH line built on top of a creek gorge. The trail features several rock bluffs lined up in a row with lots of line options, including a big wooden landing off the first one and solid dirt work at the bottom that delivers good transitions. Partway down, you'll hit a 20- to 25-foot gap jump over the creek, and the trail's signature big berms and shark fins round out the experience.
The DH trail isn't the only new addition. K-Line, an A-Line or Dirt Merchant-style jump trail, is also being finished this summer. Named in honor of local rider and firefighter Kyle Currie, it's currently rideable up top, though the bottom is still under construction. With the hill's owners giving the dig crew freedom to keep designing and building, Wentworth's progression as a riding destination is far from over.
Great trail anyone that loves to MTB should try this
| ThankNetwork of trails in the good Nova Scotian way - roots, rocks and great singletracks. Some sections are very technical. Map of the trails by the hostel. Easy to get lost!
