Alchemy Bicycles is not messing about with dropping fall bike releases, and today we see two new models and an update to one of their mainstays.
The new Argos 29″ titanium hardtail looks to be a good time, with its 65° descent-ready head tube and moderate 478mm reach on the size large. That reach will grow slightly with sag, and the 75.5° seat tube angle will tilt forward for a comfortable climbing position. The chainstays stay short across the board at 435mm which should help loft this bike up and over rough sections. Seat tubes are on the longer side, with the size large reaching up to 450mm, so shorter-legged riders may not be able to size up with this frame.
The titanium frame has integrated cable routing, and cables exit the underside of the down tube to pass beneath the BB and reenter the chainstays on their way to the caliper and derailleur. Two water bottle mounts and the largely-unscratchable titanium finish should make this an ideal bikepacking ride.
Agros bikes will be available in three builds, each based around their drivetrain components that include SRAM X01, Shimano XTR, and SRAM AXS electro. They will all have Industry Nine carbon-rimmed wheels with Hydra hubs, and two of the builds receive a Fox Factory Transfer dropper post while the AXS build has a Reverb wireless up-downer.
Complete builds start at $6,299 for the base build and top out at $8,299 with all of the wireless bits installed. Framesets are available for $4,499.
In addition to the new hardtail, all of the brand’s full-suspension bikes now have a flip-chip to allow riders to morph their frame as desired. The chip not only shifts geometry on their 120, 135, and 150mm bikes by 0.75°, it also makes switching between mixed and balanced wheel diameters a breeze.
Lastly, Alchemy is adding a new gravel option to their lineup today with the carbon fiber Rogue frame. The US-made frame comes in six sizes, a variety of colors, and six different builds. Pricing for complete bikes starts at $8,199 and stretches to $9,999.
