Much of the lower trail follows the old highway through the juniper forest zone. Although juniper dominates the dry, south-facing slopes, you will enjoy willows, aspen and ponderosa pine too. Be sure to pick up a free brochure for the interpretive sites at the lower trailhead and at the upper trailhead. The upper trailhead is located at the Cedar Pass Ski Park. source: fs.usda.gov
