Deer hunting meets mountain biking
Now I’ve heard it all. Apparently hunters in Montana (and I assume other places as well) are ditching ATVs and pickup trucks in favor of mountain bikes in pursuit of the kill. Actually it doesn’t sound like the hunters use bikes to chase their prey but they do use bikes to get out into the woods and to bring their meat back to camp.
I’ve had my fair share of run-ins with hunters out on the mountain bike trail but the hunters have always been on foot. Perhaps hunters took a cue from us bikers and realized there is a better way to get out into the wilderness that doesn’t guzzle gas and scare away game. Plus bikes are faster than walking and more efficient for transporting large quantities of meat. Check out the photo from the Helena Independent Record.
