New and used mountain bikes for less fortunate families

posted December 8, 2008 by trek7k

Boat N Bike bike shop in Buford, GA is donating new and used bikes to less fortunate families and foster children at the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter and they need your help! Here’s how it works:

The guys collect used bikes all year long and fix up the bikes that need refurbishing. Bikes that are beyond repair are recycled and the proceeds from scrap metal sales are used to purchase brand new bikes. In December each year the refurbished and new bikes are delivered to needy families and children in North Georgia free of charge.

To sweeten the deal even further, Boat N Bike will give you 10% off ANY item in the store when you bring in your bike donation. If you’re not in the metro Atlanta area, ask around at your local bike shop or check with your mountain bike club to see if similar programs exist in your area. Give back this holiday season and introduce a disadvantaged kid to mountain biking!
