Landis takes 2nd at Leadville

posted August 14, 2007 by trek7k

In case you’ve been completely disconnected like me, Floyd Landis took second place in the Leadville 100 mountain bike race in Colorado this weekend. He actually had a pretty good performance – just 1 minute, 43 seconds behind the winner, Dave Wiens – especially given his poor showing at the Teva Mountain Games a few months back.

Floyd had a strong finish despite a nasty crash just 1 hour into the almost 7 hour race. No word on whether there was a drug test after the race but the article says he did have a beer afterward ;)

Pretty impressive showing by Floyd actually… he also pushed Weins to break the 7 hour mark and the course record… My thoughts are that will stand for a long time….
