Bike helmet covers from YAKKA

posted August 14, 2008 by trek7k

I came across this one in the current Springwise newsletter: A Dutch company is marketing stylish helmet covers for the venerable brain bucket. As you can see from the YAKKA diagram the helmet is a simple BMX/skate style lid that is compatible with various cover styles. Right now the company is targeting urban riders and the helmet/cover combo isn’t cheap: $120 for the helmet plus $60 for a single cover.

There are only 4 style available right now and they are all named for international cities based on the style. I’d love to see a ‘Texan’ (cowboy hat) or even a ‘Los Angeles’ (Dodger baseball cap) to get a little american representation. I suppose something like a Mexican sombrero cover might not be practical on the trail but you can never put a price on looking fresh ;)
