Bad news if the Garmin Edge 605 or 705 is on your Christmas list: The new Edge GPS units won’t be shipping until the first quarter of 2008. GPS Lodge has confirmed the delay which is no doubt disappointing to a lot of mountain bikers.

I must admit I’m not too surprised about the delay given my conversations with the Garmin reps at Interbike. Yeah, it sucks that it won’t be around for Christmas but bike spending tends to spike in the spring as well as folks get back in the saddle. Will it be worth the wait? We’ll see…
