Description
"The most incredible mountain bike trail in the US! Fantastic views of Zions National Park. All the slickrock and singletrack you and your bike can handle. Don't let your attention wander to the sights, this trail shows no mercy to the unskilled!!! A tip of the helmet to Mike and Morgan, the trail creators!!!

Review: Not sure why this trail system is listed as being in "St. George" when itis right outside Hurricane. Oh well. This is a really fun trail SYSTEM with something for everyone. Parts reminded me of Porcupine Rim and others of Slickrock in Moab. Well worth the time and effort to get out to this hot little corner of Utah.

Review: This trail and Little Creek should easily be in the top ten. Gooseberry should easily be in the top five or number one. Best trails in america by far.

Review: Tough slickrock billygoating sprinkled with bits of mellower desert cruising, much exposure akin to the lower section of Porcupine Rim, big views in pretty much every direction and some of the best car camping I've ever seen.

Review: Awesome trail system. Just Do It! I rode the entire trail with my brother one day and went back for more the next day. Another rider we were with checked out after a heavy morning. Trail is easy to follow. I'm not sure why it is ranked advanced. I rode some time ago, was not in great shape at the time, skills were certainly nothing special at the time on a heavy hardtail without clip-ins. I was not able to complete one steep short climb and got stuck in a long stretch of sand in the middle of the mesa. Other than that, no problems (other than cramps at the end of the day and very painful legs that night) and just a lot of fun and incredible views. So don't let the advance rating intimidate you. We rode between Christmas and New Years and trail use was very light and temperatures were cold in the morning but bearable.

Review: A must ride on your list of trails. Great single track, technical and great views. Bowls and ledges will make you smile while the South Rim puts your skills to the test. I did not want to leave.

Review: Just back from a couple days of camping & riding out at GB. This was my 2nd annual trip & all I can say is Wow! what incredible desert riding. Between the trails, the isolation, the incredible views, the lack of motorized vehicles and crowds, this has to be the best riding on the continent and possibly the world. So much fun! Plan for breakdowns & flats though. A couple of days hammering up & over stuff will take a toll on your ride.

Review: Superb trail, very tech most fun you may ever have on a bicycle. There are several levels of difficulty here from the easy road to the tough South Rim. Hidden Canyon is so much fun it must be ridden both ways, as most trails here. Bowls and Ledges is a fun night ride! Not being in Singletracks top 10 best trails is foolish, it's in the top 10 on earth.* Review edited 9/30/2010There are no hikers or horses here, the trail is just bikers.* Review edited 5/18/2011

Review: This is definitly a blue ribbon trail if you like slick-rock riding. The views and terrain are amazing. Take plenty of water (and a camera) and make sure your ride is in good condition as this trail tends to be a little rough on bikes. Definitely a must-do!!!

Review: Gooseberry is quite simply the best mountain bike trail on earth. Compared to some of the other top rated (and rightly so) trails on this site that I have ridden this trail is at the top of the list all by itself. I challenge you to ride here and keep a smile off your face for more than 10 seconds, I don't think it is possible. You will want to be a decent technical rider, lots of quick ups and downs, ledges etc. The whole mesa is worth riding and exploring over and over again.

Review: This trail is a tech rider's dream. There is more fun, tight stuff here than anywhere else. There's all the slickrock fun of the more famous Moab slickrock trail without the major grunt climbs. There's also more variety, including some nice singletrack inbetween the rocks. There's something new around every corner--most of the time you won't know what it is until you turn that corner--each curve generates an ear-to-ear producing surprise. This trail network will be fun for an adventurous intermediate, but there's plenty of knucklehead stuff for the expert rider. There's also nice views of Zion National Park and the Hurricane Valley. This trail should be on every biker's "bucket list."

Similar Trail: Little Creek Mesa (similar, but with a little more singletrack and a little less rock)

Review: Could be the best place on the planet to ride. But which planet? A very surreal landscape with an AMAZING network of trails ranging from smooth buff singletrack to gnarly slickrock domes to ledgy traverses along the rim with some exposure thrown in for good measure. Always a tremendous riding experience. Must do if you like tech moves.

Review: Wow!! Outstanding. Most challenging trail I have ever experienced, with beautiful scenery, varied terrain, and outstanding views. The trail is nicely marked, but be sure to leave yourself enough time to make it back before nightfall (we almost didn't). Definitely not for beginners, however, intermediates can easily get off when needed (as I did). While I enjoyed it all... the easier "yellow" trail was more my style.

Review: Trails are in great shape, the white dots are a bit worn but all of the signage is there. The road up to the mesa isn’t any better though, especially from the Zion side, take your time.

Review: Most fun trail I've ever ridden. Camp near the trail head. Don't miss Hidden Canyon, Yellow Trail and the South Rim. Should be much higher on the list of best trails of the planet, just not well known. Met riders from Canada, England and Germany on this trail.

Review: Sometimes it looked like I was on the surface of the moon. Awesome. The canyon views were unbelievable. sgrooms was right, take the jeep trail (White Trail?) up and then take the different trails back to your car. We did the opposite and it felt like we were climbing more than descending. Had my all-mountain bike but it was set up more for downhill so I didn't have as much fun as the x-country guys. South Rim was the most fun.

Review: I say very difficult because beginners should only go so far here! This is the BMF of mountain biking, insane rock climbs and falls, smooth fast runs down rock and dirt, very cool....problem is, many places you could fall about 1500ft if you fall.....all this and the best views on the planet, and you can camp here too( no facilities)You haven't biked till you've biked here...

Review: Ill have to agree with everyone else here; Fantastic trail system! I rode a couple sections of the South Rim tr (aka; ‘Endos-a-plenty’), one section of the North Rim tr, the Practice Loop and loved them all. My favorite had to be the 2 mile Hidden Canyon tr, whereas most of the others are routes across a lot of slickrock Hidden Canyon throws in a lot of forest riding also. Great signage and dam near impossible to get lost as all the trails loop back to the White Jeep rd that runs through the middle of the mesa. Fantastic scenery but don’t take your eyes off the trail for long, ouch! Camping is also available anywhere on the mesa (BLM land), I found a great spot on the edge of the canyon 1/3 mile from the trailheads. Getting there is no picnic and Ill leave it at that- stop at Zion Cycles in Springdale and let the guy set you up with directions and a trail map.

Review: This is my favorite mountain bike trail! This is a standout in a land of many great rides. (The area around St. Geo) This purpose built mountain bike trail is slickrock mixed with singletrack, has great views of Zion, and great flow if you can tackle the technical spots. You really cannot do this trail justice on a write up. You have to go out and see for yourself. Take the main road out from the cattle guard, pick a trail and ride it back to the cattleguard. Do it over and over until you can't go any longer.

Review: This trail is amazing. Went and rode it with some buddies and had a great time. It can be as hard as you want it to be. Good to ride in the spring before it gets to hot. A must for any rider who wants to experience the best rides. Enjoy the styles of Slickrock without fighting the crowds

Review: This ride is amazing! This is a trail you want to ride all day long! The slickrock is sooo much fun. The trail has slickrock, technical areas, tight singletrack, double track, great views and plenty of fun! There is nothing like this on the east coast. I have ridden Sedona; this does not beat the views but it does beat the slickrock I rode.

Review: This is one of the best if not the best slick rock trail I have ever done. I have done Moab, Sedona,Colorado, etc..etc. This trail is not for the beginner. It is technical and around every turn it seems has something that will challenge even the mose advanced rider. The 6 hour drive from Phoenix was well worth it to ride this trail. It has a little of everything. If you love technical and slick rock, this trail is for you...
