Get out your white sweaters and tennis shorts: The Proving Ground mountain bike country club is set to open in New Jersey this spring. The founder, Lars Tribus, is building the 23 acre mountain bike oasis in New Jersey on the banks of the Delaware river. The private club will have two mountain cross courses and downhill and cross country trails.

The venture is strictly non-profit and membership dues will go back into supporting the operation and maintenance of the club. There’s currently a waiting list to join so apparently the idea has some momentum. Maybe we’ll see more of these popping up around the country as public land managers continue to place restrictions on mountain bikers…
