Description: Park at the Cottonwood Springs Trail parking lot for easy access to this fun loop. Trail runs counter-clockwise. From the start point head up to 230a then East passing the 230a/342 junction (0.5 mi) on to the 230a/341 junction (0.2 mi). From the 230a/341 junction head North riding 230 to the top of the mountain. Couple of fun technical challenges along this leg of the loop. Once you get to the top of the trail 230 will start to head West. From this point down to the 230/365 junction it's a rocky downhill. The big payoff! Once you get to the 230/365 junction head South on 365 to meet back up with 230a and finish off the loop.

This is a nice little trail system, easily accessible from town. The immediate Elena Gallegos area is fairly small, but the ride can easily be expanded into adjoining trails and can even be extended all the way to the South Foothills with a little pavement. Some trails head into the Wilderness Area so beware. The scenery is nice and the trails are moderate, so there will be a lot of hikers.

Nice easy trial with a lot of flat riding. The trail head(s) are easily found from the parking lot. Ensure you have spare tubes and/or have junk in your tires; there are a lot of goat heads. Not to much shade, so ensure you bring plenty of water. This trail is perfect for the younger riders and its also family friendly. Its located at the foot of the Sandia Mountains.

this is actually a very good trail system. from the directions, its short, but you can extend this trail system by biking from montgomery: east from tramway, left on glenwood hills, right on trail head. parking lot at end (embudito trail). Loop around 305/305A/342/341/230/365. Water and restroom access at intersection of 305A and 140. A bit technical at start of 230 with a great bomb down. given all the trails, lots of combos to choose from.
