Description: State Map: http://www.ct.gov/dep/lib/dep/stateparks/maps/huntington.pdf Huntington/The Hunt/Huny has something for everyone, beginners and experts alike. Lots of natural stunts, some killer climbs, including the Vomits; Big and Little. If you pedal to the top of one of the vomits and don't vomit you are incredible. Home to the nationally famous CT NEMBA (New England Mountain Biking Association) Rock and Roll Trail, as seen in the October 2006 Edition of Mountain Bike Action, Black Diamond Bonanza, Most Difficult places to ride in New England.

Very scenic and challenging trail. Nice switchbacks and rock gardens.

I drove more than two hours four times last summer to ride here. CPHSP is the most challenging 'single track' trail w'in driving distance of where I live. The setting is rocky deep forest and is incredibly beautiful. Each time I went back I tried to ride a section that I couldn't the time before. This is a trail you need to keep coming back to and keep working on and it's worth everything you put into it. CPHSP also let me see the incredible engineering that went into my GIRO helmet when it protected my skull from a serious miscalculation on a downhill. I made it on the next ride w' a new helmet. BTW, the trail scores as blue sq but feels like a DD when you ride it.

Similar Trail: I like Glacier Ridge on Long Island but it's only a warmup for CPHSP

Just finished a ride on the blue and red trails. I took a map after reading comments from tymal9797 which turned out to be a good move. While the trail is marked in most places there are several decision points without any markings at all. There are some really tough climbs and descents on both the blue and red trail. Also a fair amount of hike-a-bike, especially on the blue trail where it runs along a buried fiber optic line. I'd call this area a roller coaster but long-time MTBers may call it something else. I had to walk up three of the hills because they were too steep and rocky to ride.

Incredible trails here. The first time I rode the trails I was a bit lost winding around some of the trails with no map of course. some great techy stuff in the middle of the park and some great down hills too. You will love this place.
