Yeah, I chickened out this weekend. I mean, I had every intention of going down to Macon Saturday to the SORBA mountain bike weekend but then they said the white stuff was coming and I got scared. I’m so embarassed.
I’m even more embarassed after reading about Jill’s weekend ride up in Alaska: More than 5 hours in the saddle in 23 degree weather. Pretty sad that I wimped on a ride down here in Georgia while she was able to make it outside in Alaska. Unbelievable.
And yes, for the record I did write just a few weeks back that mountain biking in the winter is indeed possible, no matter the conditions. Heck, I even made it out on New Year’s day, though I haven’t been out since
So my new rule is no excuses about mountain biking EXCEPT for rain. Not that getting wet is unbearable but it’s bad for the trails ya know
For the record though, the white stuff did indeed come to Atlanta (about 2 inches in my part of town) and Macon got a mix of rain and snow. Still, wimping out never feels good, even on a technicality.
