Mountain biking in January is rough

I’m even more embarassed after reading about Jill’s weekend ride up in Alaska: More than 5 hours in the saddle in 23 degree weather. Pretty sad that I wimped on a ride down here in Georgia while she was able to make it outside in Alaska. Unbelievable.

And yes, for the record I did write just a few weeks back that mountain biking in the winter is indeed possible, no matter the conditions. Heck, I even made it out on New Year’s day, though I haven’t been out since 🙁

So my new rule is no excuses about mountain biking EXCEPT for rain. Not that getting wet is unbearable but it’s bad for the trails ya know 😉 For the record though, the white stuff did indeed come to Atlanta (about 2 inches in my part of town) and Macon got a mix of rain and snow. Still, wimping out never feels good, even on a technicality.
