No such thing as a Free Lunch – until now!

posted December 12, 2007 by trek7k

steve32300 recently posted about a new mountain bike trail in Fruita called Free Lunch and I’ve just received more dirt via IMBA and the BLM. Apparently the trail is the first purpose-built downhill mountain bike trail ever on BLM land and from what I’ve read, it’s pretty gnarly indeed.

While Free Lunch is only 1.1 miles long it’s peppered with 7-foot drops, wall rides, and gap jumps to keep even the most experienced freeriders entertained. One way travel keeps riders moving down at top speeds and the terrain is rated black diamond to double black diamond – not for beginners by any means.

If you’ve ridden Free Lunch we’d love to get your feedback or, even better, pics of you catching big air across the gaps. Pretty soon people will be saying Moab is the new Fruita ;)
