Sea Otter Classic
It’s that time of year again – The Sea Otter Classic starts next week and this year’s schedule appears bigger and better than ever. For those new to the sport, Sea Otter is held in Monterey, CA and is perhaps the largest mountain bike festival in the US, drawing tens of thousands of riders and spectators. The four day event kicks off on Thursday, April 17 and includes races, camping, demos, a huge vendor expo, games, music, food, and much more.

Sea Otter is a classic MTB event and if you’ve never been I highly recommend putting it on your wish list today. It’s unfortunate (not to mention inconvenient) there aren’t mountain bike events of this scale on the east coast – I’m know there are more than a few of us here who would love to attend every year. One challenge to hosting a large event like the Sea Otter Classic is finding a large enough location with trails and amenities that can handle the tens of thousands of attendees. Anyone on the east coast have a huge backyard?
If you’re going out to Sea Otter this year we’d love to hear from you – send us your pics and ride report!
