Description: This trail has just officially been approved by the Minneapolis Park Board at and official activity. This means, mountain biking is treated just like baseball, soccer, and other similar activities.....so this is totally killer. The trail itself is a very good flowing singletrack. It's considered an intermediate trail with a few more advanced features here and there, with bypasses. In 2006, we plan to build an expert section and a few more miles of singletrack. This trail is about 5 minutes out of downtown Minneapolis and is in a very nicely wooded area. When you are riding there, you would never guess you are in a big urban area.....that's pretty darn cool if you ask me.

I was traveling for work and I didn't have my bike with me. So, I ran part of the trails here and loved it! Wish I had my bike so I could have seen more of the park. First time in MN and can't wait to come back, will definitely revisit these trails.

Theo Wirth has some excellent riding right near the metro area of the twin cities. 2 distinct one-way loops with a paved bike path in between. The loops are some excellent singletrack, and you totally forget that you're so close to such a large metropolitan area. You won't find massive climbs, but it is a very flowy, very fun trail. Largely an intermediate trail with some small obstacles. The course is currently undergoing expansion, adding about another mile before the end of the summer. If I wasn't so busy, I'd be there every night.

I like this trail because it is somewhat hidden from the city, and is a fun loop to ride over and over and over. Watch out for nudists, though! I've had some disturbing rides at the worth.
