Mountain Bike Trails in the Crested Butte Mountain Resort Trail System

Description: Evolution Bike Park at Crested Butte Mountain Resort “has over 25 miles of
downhill and cross country mountain bike trails, a skills zone, dual slalom
course, and numerous natural and man-made obstacles.” A number of the trails
on the mountain are multi-use trails for biking, hiking, and horseback riding
and are of a more cross-country disposition.
6 of the trails, however, are dedicated and designed solely for downhill mountain
biking! They range in difficulty from beginner all the way up to expert (green
circle to double black diamond). The bike park here at Mount Crested Butte is
relatively new, with these downhill-specific trails having only been constructed
since 2008. Consequently, new trails are seemingly always under construction
at Mount Crested Butte, so expect this paragraph to go out of date (in a good
way) quickly!

This day of shredding at Evolution Bike Park may have been one of the funnest days I've ever spent on a mountain bike! Of course, I've spent so many fun days on mountain bikes it's hard to say, but still. I really need to move somewhere that I can ride DH on a regular basis! If they have managed to Create this many amazing trails in only 3 years, I can't wait to see what the future has in store!
