ProsI wasnt accually looking to buy a new bike but i went to the bike shop for some tubes and i saw this sick looking bike for 1000.00. I asked the salesmen why so cheap he said he got it at a good price so he decided to pass it on. I thought this is a no brainer. I bought it.. Ill tell you what this bike is worth every penny. Its 29lb climbs well and is fast on the downhills. Handles corners well too. Sometimes we all get lucky. I recomend this bike to anyone. People like to talk junk on Trek, but trek puts a lot of reserch into all there bikes, the remedy 5 is proof.
ConsIm not to fond of the Manitou Black front shock, its a little stiff. And get new tires the jones tires attract a lot of mud buildup.
VerdictThis is a great bike for the intermediat to advanced all mountain biker, go for it...
