Everything was a trade-off. Most of the other bikes I looked at featured a 100mm fork, as opposed to 80mm on the hardrock, but, at 6'1" and 245, if I bottom out, 20mm isn't going to make much difference.
The thing that really stood out for me was the super smooth and precise shifting, far better than any of the others I tried, once again a major advantage for a big guy.
I am 48 years old, so I doubt I will be riding competitively, but if I ever outgrow this bike I will definitely be looking at another Specialized. I couldn't be happier. |
