| Pros | Great shifting, solid and dependable. | | Cons | None. | | Verdict | The trail workhourse of the Shimano line. You can't go wrong with this one. | | Recommended for: Anyone |
| Pros | shifts smoothly
Fits my particular frame style where a bottom swing won't fit
dual pull is convenient | | Cons | body is a little wide, front - back, can potentially hit my frame if I bottom out the supension, which hasn't happened yet | | Verdict | On some full suspension frames this is the only type of derailleur that will fit.
On this model, the weight is decent as compared to the MUCH more expensive XTR, shifting is crisp and the dual pull setup is very convenient, as are the included shims that fit multiple seat post diameters. | | Recommended for: Anyone |
| Pros | Shift quick and acceptible price for the quality. | | Cons | n/a | | Verdict | No problems so far, I love it! | | Recommended for: Anyone |
| Pros | shifts crisply, very little noise when set up correctly, shimano has many models to suit every bike out there | | Cons | none | | Verdict | This works great for anyone who rides. Very little play in the unit so once you have it set up this works flawless. | | Recommended for: Anyone |
