Pros
Rapid shifting. Consistent

none

Shifting is smooth, quick and always on.
I upgraded from a Shimano LT to XT and the change was more than I expected, probably the best upgrade I've made.

Pros
shifting is smooth, no problems, holds up well to trails I've been on
Cons
to long have hit stumps and rocks
Review
works well great set up with rest of Shimano gear on bike
Pros
Sleek profile. Great shifting. Good looking and sturdy. Shifts MUCH better than the earlier models and the reduced profile actually does help avoid "trail trash".
Cons
Really only have two small issues with this derailleur.
1. The bolts holding the jockey wheels are made of soft metal that is easily stripped out. Be careful when servicing.
2. Wish the unit came with the usual cable tension devise to help pull cable slack at the unit. Instead you have to use the ones on your shifters.
Review
A sturdy and smooth derailleur that will have you forgetting about maintenance and enjoying the ride.

Pros
Definately great shifting, and as element stated...A much needed improvement over the other two models that shimano offer. The 770 / 771.
Cons
Not really at this point
Pros
Superior looks and shifting! Great all around derailleur.
Cons
Nothing at all to dislike.
Review
Awesome derailleur, use it and abuse it!
Pros
A much needed improvement over the other two models that shimano offer. The 770 / 771
Cons
Still a bit light on the shifting
Review
A much needed improvement over previous models of the XT line. I would say to shimano to dump the other models from the line and stick with this.
