| Pros | Sleek profile. Great shifting. Good looking and sturdy. Shifts MUCH better than the earlier models and the reduced profile actually does help avoid "trail trash". | | Cons | Really only have two small issues with this derailleur.
1. The bolts holding the jockey wheels are made of soft metal that is easily stripped out. Be careful when servicing.
2. Wish the unit came with the usual cable tension devise to help pull cable slack at the unit. Instead you have to use the ones on your shifters. | | Verdict | A sturdy and smooth derailleur that will have you forgetting about maintenance and enjoying the ride. |
| Pros | Definately great shifting, and as element stated...A much needed improvement over the other two models that shimano offer. The 770 / 771. | | Cons | Not really at this point |
| Pros | Superior looks and shifting! Great all around derailleur. | | Cons | Nothing at all to dislike. | | Verdict | Awesome derailleur, use it and abuse it! |
| Pros | A much needed improvement over the other two models that shimano offer. The 770 / 771 | | Cons | Still a bit light on the shifting | | Verdict | A much needed improvement over previous models of the XT line. I would say to shimano to dump the other models from the line and stick with this. |
