Salsa Mamasita Reviews
Description:
Mamasita brings her 29-inch wheels to the starting line and starts swinging her hips. Look out!
Designed as a racing frame, our scandium/carbon Mamasita is the evolution of our Moto Rapido into the 29’er format. There’s a lot more than big wheels happening here though folks. The specially shaped scandium chainstays (similar to our Dos Niner model) and our
new carbon seatstays eliminate lateral flex. This stiffens the bottom bracket area and rear triangle, and maximizes the efficiency of each pedal stroke.
The chainstays and seatstays also work together to soak up trail vibration, while not removing the feel of the trail from beneath your wheels. Our goal was to design a frame that took the sting out of the surface, without making the bike feel dead.

| Pros | I am new to mountainbiking, but have experience with motocross. Given this, I love the responsiveness of the frame. It's tight and would be unforgiving if not for the 29er wheels, which give the bike a nice feel especially with the scando/carb back-end. It's quick and light (mine weighs about 22 lbs wheels and all) | | Cons | Not much yet. I would suggest for any 29er to not skimp on wheels. Get good ones! | | Verdict | I recommend this frame for those wanted to "work up" to a bike. This is a bike that does not hold you back. In fact, I feel that it is my capabilities that limit it. Great bike to grow into. Race it, ride it and enjoy it! |
