The Minion DHR was engineered to meet the demands of the UCI World Cup downhill races. Designed by our European racing development effort, Team Maxxis-MSC. The Minion DHR features ramped knobs, like the DHF, but the channels in the knobs are designed for braking and accelerating.

Pros
Incredible traction and cornering in almost all conditions!
Cons
Weight, but hey, its a DH tire.

This is one beast of a DH tire. It has performed superbly in all conditions I have used it including: slickrock, loamy dirt, sand, hardpack clay, roots, gravel, scree, and any mixture of the above. (I have yet to use this tire in wet conditions.)
I felt so confident the entire time I was using these tires. They tracked and cornered very predictably, and if they ever did break free in the corners, they drifted predictably as well.
I can't recommend this tire enough for DH use!
Pros
Great cornering traction, braking traction
Cons
Heavy, poor pedaling traction

I use this as a trail tire for the wet Spring and Fall in VT. Hooks up well and never had any issues with these tires.
