K2 Attack 1.0

Avg rating:
Description: (from k2bikes.com/)
K2's Attack series was made for riding it all, and making it easy. 4 inches of front and rear travel make your ride smooth, and Sram's x4's will make your shifting smooth too. Disc Brakes and WTB tires will keep you in total control of those rides. Comfort and control? its a great combination! Ride-anywhere, plush, long-travel dual suspension bikes
are all the rage now for everything from basic cross-country trail riding to the more extreme thrills of launching table top jumps and high speed descending. With the Full Suspension series, K2 is now able to combine these great riding characteristics with disc brakes and durable, low-maintenance forks at affordable price points.

ProsPrice, decent components, durability.
ConsOn the heavy side.
VerdictOk, its not really the one in my dreams but this was my first real mountain bike and I did have a lot of fun with it. Mine was a few years ago and before they came with disc brakes but other than that the bike is really still the same. I put almost 6000 miles on mine before retiring it. In that time (5 years) the only things I replaced were tires, chain and gear basket, cables, seat post, brake pads and one wheel- all the normal stuff. The rear suspension style is still widely used on a lot of different bikes today including some very high dollar brands. This is a great very durable entry level bike to ride and learn what you would like in your next bike or even if you are going to get serious about the sport. My next purchase has been a K2 Lithium III, a step up but one that didn't require a bank loan.

Pros-great balance -the full suspension blasts through corners and definitely helps keep the back tire from slamming into logs.
Cons-the stock brakes lag a little
Verdictyeah, it's the one you see in your dreams
