Description: (from jamisbikes.com)
The Dakar XLT multi-link suspension platform has won numerous industry awards & accolades since it's introduction in 2003
System is fully active with a near vertical wheel axle travel path, excellent lateral & torsional stiffness for rear wheel tracking precision and 125mm of Fox Float R air-sprung suspension, with frame sizes as small as 13"
Manitou Relic Comp features 30mm
alloy stanchions, 130mm of coil sprung/Fluid Flow damped suspension, with extrnal preload adjustment
The Reverse Arch design offers greater torsional stiffness than standard arch-in-front designs yielding a higher stiffness to weight ratio & enhanced steering control & tracking accuracy
Hayes Sole hydraulic disc brakes offer more power, better feel, require less maintenance, and are often lighter than cable-actuated disc brakes
Shimano 27-speed drivetrain features Deore XT rear derailleur, Deore RapidFire Plus SL shifters, and Deore crankset with SG-X chainrings
Shimano Octalink splined BB and crank interface offers much greater strength & rigidity than the standard square taper design
Maxxis Ignitor's well-spaced tread pattern offers low rolling resistance on the straights, with ramped outside edge pentagon providing excellent traction in corners & in loose soil
The spoke bed eyelets featured on the WTB Speed Disc double wall rims are a MUST due to the disc brake specification. Disc brake torque will twist the hub, increasing the load on the nipples in the spoke bed. The addition of eyelet inserts in the rim prevents nipples from tearing through the spoke bed
Easton EA30 cockpit parts feature Easton's proprietary aluminum taper wall technology, a cold working process that produces multiple tapers to eliminate stress points & dissipate impact energy evenly
WTB Laser V Comp features a smooth radius shape with no sharp edges for easy on & off transitions

ProsReasonable price
Conscheap components
VerdictGood bang for your buck, but if you ride hard, hit jumps or drops this is not the bike for you unless you don't mind upgrading parts as they break.
