Comfortable cockpit.
Price.

Brakes felt spongy.
Overall average kit
Review
A reasonable bike but won't be rushing out to get this one. Trek, Spesh and Cannondale do a better job.

Pros
Very lightweight/agile, great value, easily upgradable, design/geometry, frame aesthetics, durability
Cons
none.

I built up the frameset this past winter to try my hand at off-road rinding. I primarily ride single tracks. All I can say is that it rides and handles great. I'm sure that the full-up over the counter bike bike is nice, but this frameset cries out for nicer components. Overall, the XTC-2 is confidence inspiring - important for an old roadie like me. Buy the XTC-1 to upgrade/customize later, buy the XTC-2 frame to build-to-suit!
Pros
Very Light, Solid components.
Cons
Tires..Kenda small Block 8's wore out fast, brakes are noisy after about a month.
Review
I am very happy with this bike, it's the first Mountain Bike I have purchased. Though I would probably recommend upgrading the tires or brakes soon.

Pros
nice and light for the price.
Cons
This bike had problem after problem....after problem. Front and rear braking systems the main issues.

I have never had a problem with a giant bike before. this bike is too delicate to cope with any problems.
Pros
Not much
Cons
My front shocks went bad after about a month, and my entire pedal arm fell off during a ride once. I brought it back and they upgraded me to an XTC-1, which is a way better bike, by far!

Spend the extra $$$ and get the XTC 1!! The XTC 1 is faster, more aggressive, has a better braking system and smoother front suspension.
