| Pros | Really useful (much to my surprise)
Looks great | | Cons | remove connection incompatible with Fizik Gobi saddle
needs regular cleaning
seat clamp a bit finicky | | Verdict | Had mine for a year now, and just got a second one for my backup bike.
I originally bought this for bling value, but now I can't imagine riding without it. I didn't realize how often I wanted to change seat heaight until I had the option of doing so at the flick of a finger. It's not just for steep downhills, but also ducking under branches and overpasses, et. Get the remote! It's only $20 more and makes a world of difference. However, check your saddle clearance -- the Fizik Gobui and a few others are too low and interfere with the remote mechanism (Selle Italia Max Flite Gel works fine). | | Recommended for: Clydesdales |

| Pros | Works flawlessly, great finish. | | Cons | Some play at the nose which is normal | | Verdict | Great seatpost which allows the rider the ability to change the seat height at the touch of your finger without the need to stop. | | Recommended for: Extreme freeriders |

| Pros | Heavy duty, works flawlessly, the benifits far exceed the small amount of extra weight. | | Cons | Price- I checked at OTE Sports in Fruita= $300 | | Verdict | Personally I probably never would have went and bought one of these. However I have recently purchased a used bike that had one already on it and after using it for a while I cant imagine doing any serious riding without one. We all know the importance proper seat height has for different trail conditions and its effect on peddling efficiency, now this can be done in a split second on the fly. No more stopping, dismounting and futzing with a seat post quick release.
I too have a remote lever on the handlebar that makes it just a touch of the thumb to operate. I highly recommend this to any into serious riding and is a must have for anyone racing.

| Pros | It's easy to use, looks good..always a item discussed. Friends all want one. | | Cons | maybe out of some people's budgets. The seat will rotate a few mm at the nose..and is normal. Heavy..not for weight weenies | | Verdict | This is my second Joplin. First one was the lever version and was stolen along with my Scott Spark. I have the joplin remote on my SC Blur LT2, and wow these are awesome. You come to a steep or technical section that warrants your COG to be lower and back, flip the switch and set down on your saddle, release when you have the desired height. When it's time to climb again, stand, flip the switch and the hydraulics will send it back in a controlled fashion. No you won't take a punch to the jewels. You'll shave so much time off of your rides/races and will blast past others on the trails, lowering their solid seatposts. | | Recommended for: Experienced XC riders |
