This is one awesome guidebook! Incredible detail, awesome descriptions, and an exhaustive look at every single ride in the area. If you are going to be mountain biking in the Crested Butte, Gunnison, or Salida area, you'd better buy this book!

Pros
Only one readily available.

Cons
Some odd choices for a short book, go to a local shop in Gunny for some better recommendations.

Seems to be a cut and paste from Laura Guccione's guide which is hard to find these days. Nothing original here.

Pros
Lots of ride options. Good coverage of the area. Expands out beyond the usual rides.

Cons
Needs elevation profiles--topos are good, but they don't give enough indication of vertical relief.

Review
Super guidebook by someone who obviously knows the area.

Pros
Beautiful full color photos of popular trails, detailed topographic maps, complete coverage of the CB/Gunnison/Salida area trails.

Cons
Too many trails to choose from! Honestly though, it would be nice to know which trails are "must rides" and which ones are for the locals.

One of the most detailed mountain bike guides you will find. While the Falcon Guides usually send you off with a simple drawn map, Holly's Ride Guides provide you with trail maps overlaid on a real topo map so you can get a feel for the terrain. Awe inspiring color photos make you want to get out and ride!
