A while ago I posted a list of bike jobs and apparently I overlooked one mountain biking occupation: mountain bike police. Yep, there’s even a Police Mountain Bike Association and this year’s annual conference will be held in Baton Rouge. Last year more than 300 people attended the conference and this year’s conclave will take place April 14 – 17.

I’m sure mountain bike police go through the police academy like all other officers but I wonder how the selection process works. Is it competitive to get into like the motorcycle units? Or is it for the guys who no one likes? The article linked above also mentioned mountain bike paramedics, yet another job for mountain bikers. I would love to find out more about mountain bike police and paramedics, maybe there are even mountain bike firemen out there somewhere?
