Mirror for a mountain bike?

posted April 18, 2007 by trek7k

a9136.jpgPicture this: You’re riding your mountain bike down a remote section of trail when suddenly, out of nowhere, a mountain lion starts to chase you. You pedal faster and faster but the powerful cat stays just inches behind you. You swerve from side to side but you have no idea if it’s working. If only you had a way to look behind while keeping your eyes on the trail ahead…

Enter the Mountain Mirrycycle MTB Mirror. I can’t say I’ve seen anyone out on the trail with one of these and I think I know why. Besides looking geeky, a bar end mounted mirror will probably get clipped off by a tree the first time you hit a tight trail (though the product specs do mention that the mirror “folds quickly for trail riding”). The mounting arm even appears to have some sort of suspension shock, perhaps to keep the rear view image stable as you blast through rock gardens? Good thing the mirror is made from polycarbonate, no one wants to land face first on broken mirror glass.

Order soon, only 16 left in stock! ;)
