Several different trails ranging from easy to intermediate. Fun for racing. Right on the York River so there are several ravines and small hills. Trail is very well-maintained by local mtn-bikers.

Review: Pretty decent ride. Some roots and rocks. Tight twisty singletrack. My honest opinion is that if you are in the area, you should check out Freedom Park instead. Way more fun there.

Review: Make sure to get the map of the park and go to the bike trails. I was in a hurry and just went right off the welcome center into the walking trails and wasted the trip entirely. So the map that gives you the mountain bike trails is a must! Great location and easy to find. Lots of wildlife, really wish I hit the actual bike trails. Maybe next time I am in the area.

Review: I rode this trail last week, and it's the best I've found in the Hampton Roads area thus far. The Marl Ravine trail was a tad tricky in places, but overall not too difficult.

Review: Decent trail, good scenery, nothing overly challenging. good rolling singletrack, good bit of switchbacks, couple bridges. can be a bit confusing because there are a lot of trails, some short, some long but all well maintained. can easily spend 2 hrs+ getting some decent riding in.

Review: Marl Ravine is in excellent condition. Park Ranger called this an advanced trail. I consider it a intermediate to advance. Very tight single track, lots of twist and surprise turns, a few jumps. I rode it twice, excellent work out trail. good for single speeders but will be a challenge with the short but steep assents.

Review: Very fun and scenic trail system. Marl Ravine has a twisted little downhill/switchback section that has so many roots it's like a staircase from hell. Made me realize that I really need a better rear shock :) It's a very fun trail I would certainly ride again.

Review: This is one of my favorite parks to ride. My favorite trail here is the Marl Ravine. Unless you are well conditioned, it is a hard trail to race through. With few places to recover, it is a punishing ride that will really make you work. However, due to its relentless nature, completing the circuit is incredibly rewarding. The diversity of the landscape makes for a very enjoyable ride, with many different sights and smells. I often find myself in awe of my surroundings on the Marl Ravine trail. However, beware: the trail is very narrow and very technical. There are many roots and rocks, and you really have to pay attention to what is coming up ahead of you. Overall, I really think this is the best trail on the Virginia peninsula. With such a cheap park fee and such a great trail, it also happens to be an awesome value. If you want a rewarding challenge, make sure you stop here. Just watch out for the end of the trail - the final hill will finish you off good!

Review: This was the first time I went mountain biking and I found these trails to be relatively easy and fun. I'm sold on mountain biking and hope to progress on to bigger and better.

Review: Extreme in every sense of the word. The black diamond was full of good up and downhill action. Nice scenery, but if you take your eyes off the trail to enjoy it you may regret it. You will definately duck a few times to keep your head attached. Overall awesome, well maintained trail for the somewhat experienced mountain biker.

Review: About as epic as you can get for a flat lander course. Well maintained, not overly crowded.. Was suprised of the damage to some of the trees with the huricance... Nice flowing trails good aerobic hits, can work the big ring and need the small in various sections... Not much need for brakes here let if flow baby!!!! sweet and classic

Review: Open as of 5/16/04, but many trees down due to the hurricane. Well-marked trails with varying levels of difficulty, relatively short climbs and fun (but short) downhills. It's possible to put together a pretty long ride by doing multiple loops. Overall, a fun ride that challenges without overwhelming.

Review: Easy obvious trails. Nice location. Nice view of the York River. I have not been there since the Hurricane last Fall (that would be Fall 2003), which did much damage, I sm sure.
