Description
It was O.K. once. Not good enough to drive there again. If we were local would be good week day ride to get out. Real tame, steep.

Review: At a glance this place is lame, but if you spend enough time there you will find PLENTY of singletrack (i lived in sunol for 3 months and loved it) firetrails are steep climbs but there are 2 LEGAL singletracks which are actually pretty cool. go to http://www.ebparks.org/files/EBRPD_files/brochure/pleas_ridge_map.pdf for a better map that you can zoom in on ---- a gnarly singletrack starts right about where sinbad creek trail meets ridgeline trail (you can see it from the water spigot facing away from the freeway - it is right about where the first left turn is) if you are coming from ridgeline on sinbad, going downhill towards creek, there will be a tiny trail on the right that isnt too hard to miss. it starts out smooth and flowy, then towards the bottom gets real steep technical and a rock garden in between. --- another trail is from ridgeline trail - if you are heading south paralell to 680 there are a few trails that start to go left. pick one, they end up at the same place. this trail is very steep and there are quite a few well built jumps log drops and berms. i did the log drops but some of the gaps are too big for me to clear... this trail ends up dropping down into a neighborhood with some humongous houses on the golf course (castlewood) but you can take foothill rd back to staging area --the legal singletrack is bay leaf trail that goes left to right from the other bay leaf and goes to shady creek trail. it is better downhill from shady creek to bay leaf fyi... i have heard of rangers patrolling here, but never seen any. ive seen dirt bike trails from the rangers, and apparantly they use helicopters too (such a waste)
