Description
This mostly level groomed gravel trail goes through sage and pinon-juniper woodlands near the rim of the gorge. Start at the trail head from the parking lot at the Visitor's center of the Wild Rivers Recreation Area and follow the well marked loop clockwise 6.1 miles back to the visitor's center. Enjoy multiple overlooks of the Rio Grande and Red River canyons.

Review: The tread here is 8' wide, covered with crushed rock, and groomed to perfection--which means not much fun on a mountain bike. The Falcon Guide calls this a "Must Stop" and says "Do this ride!" I found those recommendations way beyond realistic. The scenery is somewhat interesting and that's about it. There may be some geologic interest here, but not much reason to bring a bike--I wouldn't even bore a beginner with this "trail." The Falcon Guide said this ride should take 1 - 1.5 hrs, but I, out of shape and recently returned to altitude, completed the loop in 32 minutes without pushing myself and including multiple stops for picture taking.

Similar Trail: I would not recommend anything similar but rather say proceed to Taos where true singletrack can be found at any difficulty level.
