Description
From what I've heard, this trail was designed by the guys who did the '96 Olympic trail near Atlanta. The trails are scattered all over the place and it would have been a lot more fun if someone who knew the trails was leading. The trail is mostly tight, twisty singletrack through forested hills. The scenery is beautiful (even though I went in the middle of February). There are some sweet rocky sections. I think this trail has the potential of being very fast. However, when I experienced it, it was a bit tacky. You definetly need to hit up this trail if you're in Columbia!

Review: Rode this trail last month for the first time in a while. The riding was fun with some tight turns and challenging sections but I spent most of the time not knowing where I was. Posted maps only helped marginally

Update 11/10/12: Rode this trail again today and still spent most of my time hopelessly lost. I think I hit most of the sections, however, and have to say this trail is getting better each year. There are a couple of knowledgeable people leading trail work and, with the help of a motivated Parks & Rec staff, are making tangible improvements. There are still old areas that need upgraded and the overall length could still be increased but in a few years I feel this trail may become one of the most fun in the state.

Review: This trail has the potential to be a lot of fun. I went in late May and it was too wet. Seems to be a fairly fast singletrack. There are many side trails that can easily drift you off course and temporarily dis-orient you. Follow Parkside Drive and park in the last parking lot before the road turns to gravel, there is a trail map posted there. There has been some maintenance to the trails sometime during the 2011-2012 winter. The parks department seems to being some decent upkeep on this trail this spring/summer. They have posted some better directional signs, but it's still easy to get turned around. There has also been rumors of an additional mile or two being added.

Review: Great trail. There is a lot of fun to be had if you know which directions to take. Best thing to do is bring along someone who knows the trails, or experiment with it. Either way you will have fun. There are some decent up hills with some rewarding short down hills.

Review: Awesome trail! Love the terrain. A nice mix of roots and rocks. Some parts are more rocky than others and the climbs were fairly easy. Wish i would have had someone with me who knew the trail as it was quite confusing, with lots of intersections. I think i was going against the normal flow most of the time, judging by the directions the signs were facing. One thing that ruined a lot of the fun was the spider webs. Lots of them. I was, however, there during the week and didn't see anyone else on the trails. I bet on the weekends it is fine.

Similar Trail: Was just visiting the area, so i don't know. I hear Rockbridge State Park is the other popular trail.
