Description: Fun short ride, no long climbs at all. Fairly bumpy even with full suspension. Theres another trail going west across the road from the loop with some nice views at the end. Often I find myself ready to ride more after this trail because its 5 miles and not very strenuous, if this happens to you, I'd recomend Hall Ranch loop, only about 10 minutes to the west, and listed on this site.

Good little trail. Rocky in the vein of Heil Ranch, enough so that it's not easy to ride, makes you work. It's short and not super technical, but the rocks make it worth the ride. Pretty ridiculous views of the mountains too. The loop trail (Eagle-something) is the way to go, only like 4 miles. The non-loop (Thompson? something like that) is terrible, just babyheads and scree the whole time, no fun going up or down. A nice alternative to the super busy Boulder area trails

A lot of people poo-poo this trail due to its lack of challenge--that is a mistake. The south loop is fun to take fast and the north end is an out and back on some ledgy rocks. There are great views of Longs Peak and the Front Range. It's also snow-free when others higher up are unrideable. This is a great place to take folks looking so step up from novice to intermediate.

Similar Trail: Halls for more challenge.

I found this trail in the book "mountain biking denver and boulder" by Bob D'Antonio. He rated this trail as easy, with a rating of 1-3 on single track. I found the single track to be somewhat challenging in spots. The climbs are not difficult, but they are very rocky and have some ledges in spots. All in all a very beautiful ride with scenic panaramic shots.

I just rode this trail today for the first time in a couple of years and it's changed some - more loose and more rocky but it's all ride-able. That being said, I don't think this qualifies as an easy trail anymore. I'll second ski-bum's suggestion that this is an excellent place for a beginner to take it to the next level - plenty of opportunities to learn rocks, loose stuff and a couple of drops here and there. It should be mentioned that there are two routes out of the parking lot; you can choose between an easy fire road or a fairly technical singletrack. I used to kind of look down my nose at this ride but it's a little more challenging than it used to be.

Nice trail with overlook of Thompson Valley, and view of the plains, Boulder, and the Flatirons, etc. It was well signed, and somewhat rocky.

I like Rabbit Mountain alot. It's great for a quick work out at the end of the day. It's a nice fast ride with extremely varied terrain. the climbs aren't difficult, but some of the rocky sections can be tricky. During the ride, you'll go from Boulder County Slickrock to loose sharp rocks, to sweet flowing singletrack through open meadows, back to some loose rock gardens, and so on. Some of the descents can be tough, but it's all rideable. I think this trail has something for everyone and never fails to put a smile on my face.
